Yannis Kotziagkiaouridis

Yannis Kotziagkiaouridis has based his 20+ year career on the fundamental principle that data helps brands build stronger relationships with people. As Edelman's Global Chief Data & AI Officer, he uses this belief to lead Edelman Data & Intelligence (DXI), the global, multidisciplinary organization that brings together the data, insight, analytics, research and data science capabilities of Edelman.

Amid an era filled with new data, technologies, business models and buzzwords, Kotziagkiaouridis and his team enable brands to behave and communicate like humans–through listening, learning and understanding, earning trust and cultivating relationships. This approach drives consumers to action by turning observations into insights, blending human judgment for problem engineering with machine learning to use data inspirationally and creatively.

Under Kotziagkiaouridis' leadership, Edelman DXI has built an ecosystem of more creative thinkers across the globe interconnected by a mutual understanding of data with empathy. Using analytics enabled by AI, he empowers his team to predict the unforeseen, find trends in white noise, quantify the future, and create experiences that ignite people to action and drive emotional connection to brands. 

Prior to joining Edelman, Kotziagkiaouridis led Wunderman Thompson’s analytics practice as Global Chief Analytics Officer and for nearly a decade, he worked with some of the most significant direct to consumer brands in the world as vice president of CRM Analytics and Strategy at Merkle. He also served as vice president of Analytics Strategy at TPG, a boutique direct-to-consumer agency, part of Omnicom Group.

Kotziagkiaouridis and his teams have garnered many honors throughout his career, including Effies and a Bronze Cannes Lion in the Media category. He has been a speaker at I-COM, +Cartagena, Social Media Week, the 4A's and IBM Think.

Kotziagkiaouridis holds a Business Economics degree from Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece, an MBA from the University of New Haven, and a Post-Master's in Quantitative Analysis from Drexel University.

Kotziagkiaouridis lives in diverse and cosmopolitan Dallas with his partner Paul, their two boys, Luka and Niko, and their cocker spaniel Ollie. When he is not traveling around the world connecting talent and evangelizing driving data with empathy, he spends time mentoring entrepreneurs in the fields of AI and Big Data.
